What Makes claude motion design Different for Explainer Videos

Each scene is written as code straight from your brief, so numbers, labels, charts, and images glide into place like a short film — and nothing stays locked down.

  • Coded Animation, Not Generated Footage
Your prompt becomes a Motion artifact: code that choreographs text, charts, shapes, and images. No video model sits behind it, so you get clean graphics rather than lifelike people.
  • Every Project Saves as an Artifact
Work you create lands in the Artifacts tab. Motion is one template among several, so you can reopen it later or start a fresh artifact whenever you like.
  • Edit a Single Detail, Nothing Else Shifts
Since the result is code, tweaking one word, one figure, or a timing cue leaves every other layer untouched and exactly as you left it.

Adjust by Conversation

Type something like “slow the second scene down” or “make the Q3 figure 18%” and the animation is rebuilt to match.

FAQ

Answers About claude motion design

Plan access, output type, storage, usage limits, downloads, and admin switches — the questions people ask most, answered below.

1

Which Claude plans include Motion?

Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team workspaces have it on by default; Enterprise workspaces start with it off until an owner enables it under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Will it generate lifelike footage or people?

No — there is no video generation model behind it. The moving elements are the text, charts, shapes, and images from your own material, rendered as code.

3

Where are my animations stored?

Each one is saved to the Artifacts tab as an artifact built from the Motion template, sitting alongside your other artifacts.

4

Do animations count against my usage allowance?

Yes. Motion draws on your plan's usage allowance like any other Claude work, and a long or complex animation uses more of it than a normal message.

5

Can I save an animation as a video file?

Yes — choose Export, then MP4, and the animation downloads as a video file you can play or embed anywhere.

6

Who enables Motion for a company, and can access be restricted?

Owners and Primary Owners manage it under Organization settings > Artifacts. On Enterprise, they can also limit Motion to specific groups through custom roles.
